When we live conscious of God´s presence, we begin to understand that our life is a true path that leads, without pause, to obtaining Life forever.  For that reason, a Pilgrim is one who heads towards a goal.  That´s what happens in great pilgrimages: reaching the goal is both the objective and the incentive to keep walking, despite the tiredness and difficulties of the journey.

Looking at the path of our daily giving to God, we can recognize that he has been next to us, accompanying us and guiding us to the full realization of his work in us, throughout our lives.

If we persevere each day in our way, giving ourselves more and more, offering everything and adhering to the divine will, God´s Love will transform our hearts, converting it in a medium to help our brothers receive the grace by which we are sanctified.  This happens when we put our entire lives in God´s hands. 

The most expeditious way to reach our Savior is through his Mother.  Throughout these pages, we will understand more profoundly how the Holy Spirit works when we open ourselves to be touched and transformed by him.  This transformation converts us in souls offered to the service of the redemption of the whole world by means of giving and offering ourselves to God in favor of our brothers.  It is hard to persevere in this path of giving if we aren´t continuously sustained by God´s grace and animated every day to offer everything we live so that it bears fruits of salvation for everyone. 

Every spiritual path needs to be supported by prayer.  This book is mainly aimed at encouraging and accompanying the Pilgrim in its daily walk along the path of giving and offering.  Like a crosier, prayer supports the Pilgrim in his itinerary towards his total giving to God, for the salvation of the souls. 

The path that the Pilgrim follows in his daily walk, giving himself, has as its goal to live the union with God by accepting with love and confidence his Divine Will.  In order to live intimately this union, the Holy Spirit leads him along the path of his own abandonment in God´s hands. 

This Brief Introduction is an invitation to deepen the path of surrender by experiencing an encounter with Jesus not only through mental prayer but also through the offering of ourselves in prayerful silence in order to fix our gaze on our Savior, focusing ever more on His love that calls us and unites us to Him.

We Christians are called to live out, in our daily lives, the baptismal priesthood that Christ bequeathed to us—a priesthood that transforms us into instruments of His grace, enabling us to bring the salvation so lavishly bestowed upon us to all our brothers and sisters. In this way, the Holy Spirit awakens within the Church a call to a spirit of ready self-giving for the sake of others, ensuring that salvation reaches everyone without distinction.

When we open ourselves to the life-giving action of the Holy Spirit, He begins His transforming work within us. The kingdom of His love and grace thus turns us into His instruments for bringing salvation to all our brothers and sisters. He does this whenever we offer Him our humble hearts and surrender to Him what happens to us, what we experience, and who we are.
